If you’re starting out, you can choose to charge from $0.00 to $20.00 per page. However, if you’re going to charge a lot, you should start with the lowest value item to have the least impact on the overall price. In order to do this, you’ll need to research what pricing you will be using. For example, if you’re going to pay $0.00 for all of an editorial, you will probably want to make sure there are an extremely low number of pages (0-3). The page counts that apply to a single page of an editorial will most likely range from a few hundred to hundreds of pages.
Once you’ve determined your pricing, it’s important to keep in mind that the average cost of your editorial will be much lower than the wholesale prices of the webpages you want to charge. This means that if you want to charge a monthly rate for an editorial, you will need to estimate that at least half of the total cost of the editorial will come from your editorial sales.
It pays to research your competition. If you’re not sure what pricing options are available to you, you can find out by searching for “how to estimate cost per page.”
I have an existing customer. Do I need to contact them?
No, the Editorial Pricing Page is just a guide for you. We don’t get into personal details and it is your decision how detailed you want it to be. I’m sure you have hundreds of customers that are interested in your editorial and they would love to talk to you about pricing options. If you don’t want to reach them, I’d suggest that you don’t bother sending them the link to the page, but rather just include it in the contact box in their email.
How do I get started?
I’m happy to answer questions!
I’ll send out weekly updates to you about how many editorial pieces to expect. Email [email protected]) with questions and any changes you’re making. Your first call should arrive within the next week!
