Photographers are still using Photoshop but there are some who are moving away from Photoshop for their work. In fact there are quite a few who are not using the software for their work at all (i.e. Lightroom). This is something that I have noticed while working in the industry as well for those who have switched to Lightroom.
Lightroom is a great solution for most photographers. This software has been around for years and a lot of people have moved over to it. The software allows you to have a consistent workflow for taking photos and organizing them nicely.
Photographers will have to make sure to keep some of Adobe’s photo editing programs in mind.
You have to choose wisely for your particular setup.
Will editing photos on Lightroom make your photos look digital to others?
This is another difficult question but I’m going to try my best to help answer it anyway…
Photographers who don’t use Photoshop will want to keep their photos in their original file format. These cameras were originally “DNG” files and this is the format that Lightroom, Adobe’s professional software, is able to store your original photos in.
As photographers move over to Lightroom, our files are formatted differently so Lightroom stores “L” files in the L format (Lime’s equivalent file format). The original file formats on your camera and computer may not be compatible.
For this reason many people prefer to save Lightroom as RAW files (RAW is a format that contains the actual color information in every pixel, not just how light and dark the image is). By RAW I mean they can edit the image from the original camera sensor and the camera firmware without having to apply all that extra processing.
These cameras can also record the DNG files. If you use any camera that has this capability you can save the RAW files that way.
Asking a question that a lot of photographers have asked themselves for years.
Many photographers simply don’t know how to set up their new digital cameras properly and they can’t find the answer there.
These are probably the people whose photos look digital when we compare them to older camera’s we use.
I can tell you with confidence that these new digital cameras are not the ones that will show up in your photos. Even in photo apps there are ways to make your image look digital. For this issue however, I think the only real solution is to either set up your camera correctly (or
